Minutes
Rhonda Parker, co-chair,
called June meeting to order, read and reviewed the May
minutes. Thirteen members were present. Sherry Estes, Regional
Prevention Center, requested a correction. Sherry stated the
SPF-SIG money needed to be spent by December 31, not September
3 0. Correction made, motion to accept made by Heather Barnes,
second by Crissy Caldwell.
Old
Business
The Coalition was a sponsoring
partner in Family Fun Zone for the July
4th Celebration. The
Coalition contributed $3,000 for T-shirts for youth and
workers. The shirts had an anti-drug message on the back
of the shirt.
Betty Amos stated the number
of youth she is seeing for prescription drug abuse is down from
the previous year. She is not seeing as much oxycontin as
loratab and xanax.
New Business
Ann Mattingly announced the
Community Baby shower on July 15 and TCE kindergarten kickoff
on July 25. Betty Amos announced that her office had relocated
to 213 E. Broadway. Karen and Rhonda will be teaching a PRI
class for youth July 7-9 for youth in the diversion
program.
Judge Rogers read the official
letter stating that Campbellsville Independent School is
receiving $326,000 from the U.S. Dept of Education for the
grant to reduce alcohol abuse. This will be a partnership
between both school districts and the Coalition.
This grant will continue for
three years.
The attending members voted to
not hold a July meeting. The next meeting will be August
15
